SUMMER CAMP DETAILS

1. Accommodation

Polynesian style bungalows are extremely well ventilated because, in addition to doors and windows, they have openings at the junction of the walls and the roof and along the base. They come in variants with 2, 3 and 5 beds. They are located in a pine forest that provides shade and refreshment, and they are all near sanitary facilities (of which there are around 10 in the camp) with showers. There are no crowds and no waiting time. Above each bed is a canopy. In addition to beds, each bungalow has several open wardrobes and a trash can.

2. Restaurant

The restaurant offers four buffet style meals a day: breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. The range of dishes is varied – meat, fish, vegetarian dishes with gluten-free and other options in case of intolerances, allergies and other difficulties with food. In addition to variety, one part of the restaurant is always dedicated to classic pasta dishes (e.g. spaghetti Bolognese), which is a frequent choice of our younger guests. Unlimited tap drinks are also available – water, juices, beer, coffee, tea. The capacity of the restaurant is very large and even during the busiest times, the wait is minimal.

3. Krav Maga activities

Four training seminars are held during the camp, in English and Croatian:

  • Night training – how to defend yourself in conditions of reduced visibility, how to move, how to tactically use a flashlight, how to react when someone else has the flashlight… the first training seminar is held on the first evening in the camp and provides an experience vastly different from the indoor one.
  • Armed and unarmed attackers – training takes place in a pine forest and the main difference compared to indoor training is the surface itself – earth and stone – which requires extra vigilance and caution. Attacks and defenses do not always take place in ideal conditions and this training seminar provides an opportunity to try sub-optimal conditions in terms of moving in the guard, scanning the environment, etc.
  • Fighting in water – what do self-defense techniques look like in water? This aspect of Krav Maga training is extremely interesting, but also demanding. It is very easy to get disoriented under water and it is difficult to perform techniques if we lack air and maneuvering is difficult. Participating in this training seminar gives participants a completely different insight into the concept of self-defense.
  • Third person protection – the topic of protecting a third person is sometimes covered in regular training, but at summer camp it is given more attention and goes into more detail.

4. Training sessions for kids

Considering that a large part of the camp participants are families with children, since last year, daily training sessions for children have been organised in an open hall with tatami mats. As in regular children’s training, the activities are oriented around play and fun while learning specific concepts of self defence and acquiring motor skills. After training, children can refresh themselves in the sea because the beach is a few steps away.

5. Free time

The camp offers many activities included in the price: adrenaline parks for children and adults, water park, outdoor gym, mini golf, kayaks, table tennis and football, basketball, beach volleyball, archery, tennis, aerobics, water polo, badminton, bocce, climbing rock, windsurfing, animation for children and adults…

The central part of the camp consists of a reception with a nearby cafe, a small amphitheater, a children’s playground and stations with power sockets (which are also available in the cafe, while charging mobile phones is also available at the reception), and the stone beach is a few meters away. The largest beach, a few minutes away, is sandy, and deckchairs are available for guests on all beaches.
